The Internet has turned everyone I know into cowards and it is a damn shame. I remember once asking my dad when I was young why more people didn’t murder with their hands because it seemed so much cleaner and he said,
“Anyone can shoot someone, but when you’re close enough to strangle someone, close enough to feel the struggle, the blood stopping, the smell, close enough to see the light leave their eyes and feel the spit fly off their lips, that’s a different kind of murder and most people don’t have the guts to pull it off.”
I often think about this conversation and what it means. Most people who kill with bullets might not have committed the crime had they been forced to kill with their hands. I think this kind of compares to people taking shots over the internet rather than face to face. It takes a lot of guts and a LOT of consideration to confront someone in person. Usually, by the time you are finished mulling over whether to bitch this person out or what you are going to say you decide to back down. Decide that it’s not worth your trouble after all.
The internet is quick and clean, like a bullet. No thinking just shooting. It’s easy and anyone can do it. Any coward can hide behind their computer or phone as easily as they can hide behind a barrel of a gun.
Bottom line, a coward gaining strength without gaining courage is the downfall of humanity. Be a man. Grow a large, strong pair and don’t let the cowards win. Beating them is as quick and easy as stabbing a motherfucker with a shank made out of a melted down shard of a cafeteria tray. Goodnight.
Truth in the digital sea of bullshit.
